It’s 2024 and the idea that female coaches can’t understand or successfully coach football is frankly ridiculous.
At Limehouse Laces, we’re proud to have an all-female coaching team because we believe that great coaching is about knowledge, passion, and the ability to inspire and motivate. Female coaches bring a unique perspective and create a supportive environment where every player can thrive, on and off the pitch.
But here’s the thing: how can young girls see a future in football when the path ahead is only filled with men? Having female coaches shows them that they can be in charge, they can lead, and they can succeed in football. It’s about giving girls a vision of what’s possible – a future where they can lead and succeed in the game.
Current Coaching and Volunteering Opportunities
Are you passionate about empowering young girls through football? We are always on the lookout for enthusiastic female coaches to join our team and inspire players aged 6 to 18. As a coach, you’ll play a pivotal role in fostering a love for the game, building skills, and promoting teamwork in an inclusive and supportive environment—where you’ll also meet like-minded people and share plenty of special moments (like pulling funny faces with your Mummy Managers!).
Each coach is supported by two incredible Mummy Managers, dedicated volunteers who keep everything running smoothly both on and off the pitch. The hands-on Mummy Manager assists with training sessions, match preparation, and team organisation, while also focusing on the girls’ welfare on match days—handling injuries, period needs, and ensuring every player feels supported. Meanwhile, the admin-focused Mummy Manager takes care of the behind-the-scenes tasks, liaising with opposing teams, coordinating transport, and keeping parents updated. Together, they create a seamless connection between coaches, parents, and the club, ensuring every player thrives in a safe and positive environment.
We’re committed to creating an inclusive space where football is accessible to all. Training sessions take place on Wednesday evenings, with league games on Saturdays. In return for your dedication, we offer hourly compensation, opportunities for professional development, and the chance to make a real difference in your community.
If you’re ready to inspire the next generation of female footballers and become part of our vibrant club, send your resume and a brief cover letter to our Chair, Nyame Rouse-Farooq, at chair@limehouselaces.co.uk. Join us in shaping the future of the game—on and off the field!
